Q: How do I apply for accreditation?
 
A: Your business relations consultant will guide you through the process and finalize your application over the telephone. When a business profile is completed by a business, it is assigned to a Business Relations Consultant. A personal contact is made to complete the application. There is no way apply online only to start the qualifying process. You may want to check the standards to make sure you are elgible to apply.

Q: How much does it cost?
 
A: There is an annual investment which varies by service area. Your business relations consultant will be able to verify the amount once they complete an interview and properly qualify and catergorize your company. Fee's range from $300 and up based on the size of your company and participation in various programs that allow promotion of your association with the BBB.

Q: What does my rating have to do with applying?
 
A: Accreditation is by invitation and open to all companies in good standing, however it’s not for everyone. The BBB does not a accredit all companies and final approval comes from the Board of Directors. In order to apply a company must be free of an unsatisfactory rating and maintain at least a B rating at the accrediting BBB and the BBB where it is headquartered, if different. Q: What happens when someone complains about my company?
 
A: Your BBB will forward the complaint to your designated contact. Then promptly respond directly with the complainant and notifying BBB with a response that:
  • is professional,
  • addresses all of the issues raised by the complainant,
  • includes appropriate evidence and documents supporting the business’ position, and
  • explains why any relief sought by the complainant cannot or should not be granted.

Q: Will I lose my accreditation status if a complaint is file against my company?
 
A:  Accreditaiton is granted on a companies agreement to meet and maintain the Business Code of standards including maintaining a minimum B rating. BBB may consider a business’ willingness to participate in recommended dispute resolution options in determining compliance with these standards.
